Online collaboration tools for eTwinning partnerships

The constant technological development reflected in the emergence of new tools, software solutions and interface outlooks triggers the need to redefine the way researchers and practitioners conceptualise technology in order to find its most appropriate educational applications. Web 2.0, with its focus on social networking and using the Web as a platform, allows to create new quality of online interaction in eTwinning projects.

For that matter, the presentation will consider the applicability of selected Collaboration 2.0 applications (wikis, online word processors, online whiteboards and screen annotation tools) in eTwinning partnerships. It is especially important to analyse the features of Web 2.0 collaboration tools and reflect upon their use in the instruction of specific language skills, as well as to consider the issues of copyright and Internet safety.
